The Shifters Legion
"The Shifter Legion is nigh. We will be united under its banner. Today, we set out to construct Bastiel city. All who wish to follow, do so now." The words of Wireman.
Wireman, the son of Nianis. Many do not know of this tale.
Some know of Nianis's fall to mortality, but not what he did as a mortal. He was thought unworthy for allowing his Rift to be captured by Murmur. The Colonnade sent him with his people as punishment. This was 300 years ago. This is before the rise of Haven. Nianis was born as a 16 year old man with no prior knowledge of being a god. He was on Platform#3 of The Rockheart Nation. The Rockhearts had just escaped the Nether one year ago that day. They had to fly out to escape. Of the 68 platforms (Platforms are cities on floating machines), only 6 survived. Platforms 1, 3, 27, 31, 48, and 65. The cities were in extremely pore condition and required constant work to keep them flying. The Rockhearts were an extremely technologically advanced nation, their knowledge fed to them years before by Nianis.
The Rockhearts were running low on supplies. They had no income of metals or redstone to make repairs on their platforms and it was beginning to take a toll on the cities. One morning, Nianis (Age 21) was on his way to the farm to gather some food, when he glanced up at Platform#27. It's core room was falling apart. The city slowly began to fall until it suddenly exploded. The entire Platform#3 was shrouded in shrapnel and many people were blinded by the explosion. That was the day project Reclaimer was born.
The higher-ups of the Rockheart nation decided to take a great risk. In order to get sufficient supplies, they would need to enter the Nether and reclaim them from old cities. A week later, the Gate was complete. There were 4 people around the gate when it first opened; they all died from the gases expelled from the purple gloom. The Rockhearts countered the gas with gas masks and protective suits. Now, they needed volunteers. Nianis and 7 other men were the first to step forward. The entire Platform#3 stood still as they awaited the eight men to return.
The gate rumbled. A figure stepped through. The Rockhearts watching all gasped in surprise. It was Nianis. The crowd cheered as the other seven stepped through behind him, all carrying hunks of metal and containers filled with redstone. The group was given the name Reclaimers, and jumping to the Nether became their fulltime job. In one year, the platforms were running better than they had since leaving the Nether and everybody was happy. Everybody but Murmur.
When the Reclaimers first started entering the Nether, Murmur thought nothing of it. She assumed the group was leftover pigmen or lost creepers. It was in the coming years, when the Reclaimer's population grew, that she began to get weary. Meanwhile, with the population of the Reclaimers at a solid 100, and the Rockhearts returning to life, the Colonnade was happy. They gave Nianis back his divinity as a reward for bringing his people back.
Many people would think that mortal Nianis would just float up into the sky and become a god, but he didn't. Mortal Nianis regained all of his memories of being a god before, but he stayed as a Rockheart. Divine Nianis appeared back as a god in the colonnade. The two bodies co-existed. Mortal Nianis was not a god, just a normal person, but he was "son" to real Nianis in the Colonnade. Mortal Nianis was not called "Nianis" by the Rockhearts. His peers called him Wireman.
Wireman rose up in the ranks of the Rockhearts and became leader of the Reclaimers. The Reclaimers, population 250, needed more room to work. The set up an Outpost in the Nether. The Outpost then became a city. Before long, the Reclaimers became a nation, separate from the Rockhearts. They got together, the highest ranks of the Reclaimers, and came up with a new name of their nation. The Shifters.
Murmur was enraged when she saw the Shifters building in her Nether. She attacked. Right in the middle of the golden age of the Rockhearts and the Shifters. She sent a horde of Ghasts and Creepers at the city of the Shifters. Wireman led his people to victory, defending the City of Erabos from the dark forces of Murmur. In his honor, the Shifters built a tower in the middle of Erabos for Wireman. Murmur saw the effect Wireman had on his people, and she knew that as long as he was there, the Shifters were indestructible.
So she killed him. Nianis saw him die. He could not allow this. He brought him back to life. He couldn't bring him back in the Nether, for the Darkness would not allow him, so he placed Wireman in Haven. This was 200 years ago, at the rise of Haven.
Wireman awoke knowing what Nianis had done. He accepted it and asked Nianis to send a message to the Shifters telling them what their next plan of action would be. Wireman began his life in Haven. He travel a lot and died six times. Nianis brought him back each time. He came across a large number of civilisations, but one stuck out to him. It was led by a man named Netu. This was 100 years ago.
Wireman became acquainted with Netu. One day Netu died. He was brought back the next day. Wireman did some research on him and found out he worshiped Eknav. Wireman began to follow Netu very closely. Few people in Haven knew of Murmur. Murmur constantly attack and destroyed parts of Haven, but the people there blamed it on their own stupidity and natural disasters. Netu knew of Murmur. He tried to tell his people on many occasions, but they dismissed his words as nonsense. They should of known better.
The following events happened 5 years ago. Wireman had been noticing the increasing attacks on Haven, so he went to Netu to discuss their plan of action. Wireman revealed himself as a Shifter, and told Netu of all the great technologies and knowledge of his people. Netu was unsure at first, but he allowed Wireman to gather a small group of people together as Shifters. The Haven-Shifters were slow at first, but they caught on and performed excellently. The Shifters were just getting to learn about Murmur when she attacked. She captured Nianis and enslaved him in the Nether. The Shifters and Netu's people, the Keepers fought valiantly, but in the end they lost. Haven was destroyed and almost everybody was lost. Nianis could not revive Wireman in Haven.
When Wireman woke in Cascade, Netu was already there. Eknav had brought Netu, Wireman and a small number of his people with him. Among them, two Haven-Shifters made it. Wireman would have to save his father, and to do so, he would need his people. He held a meeting and announced the construction of Bastiel city. Wireman set out on his quest. To save Nianis, save the Shifters, and stop Murmur.
